What is tendonitis?

The prime movers of the body come from the muscular system. Each muscle has its specific purpose. To allow action to take place at a joint the muscle contracts. The contraction only moves the bones because of the muscle attachments to the bone. These muscle attachments to the bone are called tendons. Every muscle has a tendon to connect each end of itself to the bones of a joint. When the tendons become injured from micro-trauma or a specific injury, pain and swelling are usually the end result. This inflammatory process is referred to as tendonitis.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

A Front Office staff member went to bat for me one morning when I arrived for PT but my approved plan had not. The staff member called the physician office and insisted on talking to a "live" person and finally it was all straightened out. I am most grateful that this person went the extra mile to help me.
