It was 1988 when Baltimore Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy was first founded. The location was Essex, on Eastern Boulevard. This was where the dream began. The clinic was a 3100 sq ft facility outfitted with high tech gym equipment from local universities. Treatment rooms totaled six; with one being half the size of the rest. A pool was first established in this office confined to the space of a former storage closet. George Prevas, physical therapist and owner of BSR and PT, first had the idea of combining Aquatic Therapy with dry land treatments in the same facility. This treatment has added value to physical therapy offered at each of the three sites.

In 1994 it was time to grow. Patient clientele had increased in Essex and allowed further expansion. Bel Air was the location of choice; Emmorton Road to be exact. In 1994 the area was growing and provided a great location; this for a clinic which spent six years developing a healthy reputation in Essex. This newer clinic was larger than the first, growing in size to 5500 sq ft. The aquatic pool also grew to 320 sq ft; the aqua room now offering two changing rooms. Treatment rooms totaled eight. The office also offers a conference room and larger front office space. Newer isokinetic equipment was supplied for this office.

The year was 2002 when the next clinic was born. In Gambrills, off Waugh Chapel Road, another crew began working. This office is 4000 sq ft and the pool 600 sq ft. Eight treatment rooms and high tech equipment abounds. This office also began in an area that was growing and allowed the office to grow along side it. A newer physician market offered some obstacles but again the reputation has helped the clinic grow.

In 2004 the original clinic that began it all was relocated to Orville Road, about five minutes from the first clinic. A new shopping complex, similar to the Gambrills location, was the choice area to move into. This newer location offers easier convenience in and out for patients. As well, this site offers a 600 sq ft pool and ten treatment rooms. High tech equipment again fills the spacious gym area. Plenty of front office space allows for billing and management practices.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

In comparing other rehab centers, I have found that others do not have the therapy pool which is a marvelous aid to hasten recovery from this type of surgery. I feel fortunate that Baltimore Sports Rehab and PT is both convenient and a top quality rehab center.
